About Evan J. Pretzer

Evan James Pretzer is a passionate gamer who has enjoyed the hobby since playing X-Men: Mutant Academy way back in 2000 on his Game Boy Color before making the jump to more challenging content. Apart from taking deep dives into the gaming industry and culture topics, he has also worked as a reporter and been published nationally in Canada at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. An immigrant now living in the United States, his future goals include seeing a proper third game made in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, paying off his home, and running for public office. All are certainly challenging, and, in a sign of the times, he believes he will live to see the third done long before the other two ever come to fruition. Visit evanjpretzer.com to learn more about him or send him tips and topic ideas on social media.

Favorite Games and Genres

I find role-playing-games are what I have always enjoyed most. They never fail to challenge me, make me think, and always have memorable characters and stories. Also, it is fun to break one and you cannot do this in a linear shooter like Call of Duty or Halo.

First Game Console and Preferred Platforms

My first-ever game console that I remember was a PS1. Before that I was able to play Doom on the computer and lately I find my tastes still trend towards the Xbox and PC, but if something is really cool I will borrow another machine just to play it like I did with Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
